Dr Ursula Stephens is Labor's candidate for Goulburn in the 2019 State Election.
Ursula has served as a Senator in the Australian Parliament for twelve years until 2014, working closely with the not for profit sector as Parliamentary Secretary for Social Inclusion and the Voluntary Sector . Since leaving Parliament she continues to work within the community sector, serving on numerous boards. She chairs the Fundraising Institute of Australia's Code Authority and the Australian Blindness Forum at a national level. Ursula understands the diverse interests of the Goulburn electorate
As a local community activist, business operator and former senator, Ursula understands the challenges that families and small businesses face in rural communities. Ursula has always believed in supporting our community and works hard to make a difference.
She's someone we can count on
Ursula has a proven record of keeping in touch with our community and promoting the issues that locals care about. She has always put the community first and shown she can get things done.
Ursula is standing up for us and our region against the city-centric Liberal government
This electorate has been in conservative hands for more than 50 years. In that time our communities have been taken for granted with cuts to health, education and job losses. We need a strong, local advocate who will fight against the Liberals’ cuts to local schools and TAFEs, work to improve local roads and stand-up against the Liberals’ relentless privatisation agenda.
